Our Founder
Dr. Sylvia Abbeyquaye is a dynamic and accomplished healthcare professional with a diverse background in nursing education, long-term care consulting, and entrepreneurship. With a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, Dr. Abbeyquaye's journey in healthcare began early in her career
Upon immigrating to the United States, Dr. Abbeyquaye pursued further education, earning a Master's in Public Administration from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her passion for nursing led her to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMASS-Amherst, followed by a Ph.D. in nursing from the same institution in 2018.
Dr. Abbeyquaye's career has seen her progress from a Certified Nurse Assistant to a Director of Nursing, gaining valuable insights and experience along the way. As an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University, she remains committed to teaching, mentoring, and advocating for staff development in longterm care settings.
Dr. Abbeyquaye is the author of "Navigating Long-term Care: A Practical Approach for Nurses". Her upcoming book, "The Talent Retention Code," scheduled for release in April 2024, will offer innovative strategies for attracting and retaining top talent

The Origins of NSDxpert
NSDxpert's journey began with a pivotal incident during Dr. Abbeyquaye's tenure as Director of Nursing at a skilled nursing facility. Following a tragic event that exposed significant gaps in staff knowledge and practice, Dr. Abbeyquaye took decisive action to implement training initiatives aimed at enhancing staff competence and addressing systemic issues within the facility
The impact of these changes was profound, resulting in improved staff confidence, competency, enhanced quality of care, and a 50%+ increase in retention rates. Within six months, the facility achieved its highest ever Department of Public Health survey results. Inspired by this success, Dr. Abbeyquaye continued to innovate and develop her approach to staff retention, culminating in the creation of NSDxpert Education and Consultancy Services LLC.
